Leon Scott Kennedy Look-a-Likes and Doppelgangers
I've received scores of e-mails from people sending me their "Leon Scot Kennedy" look-a-likes. To set the record straight, not every pretty white boy with longish hair deserves the privilege of being dubbed a "Leon Scott Kennedy look-a-like" or a "Leon Scott Kennedy Doppelganger".
In fact, you have to be an artist and a madman, a creature of infinite melancholy, with a bubble of hot poison in your loins and a super-voluptuous flame aglow in your subtle spine...in order to discern at once, by ineffable signs- the slightly feline outline of a cheekbone, the boyish spark, and other indices which despair and shame and tears of tenderness forbid me to tabulate- the deadly little demon among the wholesome boys; he stands unrecognized by them and unconscious himself of his fantastic power.
With that in mind, seek the boys with the true "Leon Spark" and please send your suggestions my way. All will be considered; most will be added to this roster.
Brendan Fraser
Brendan Fraser wasn't born. He was carved out of granite. He is Pygmalion's masterpiece, he is art in motion. Brendan Fraser is among my top favorite actors for having A-list looks but an indie movie sensibility. He's not afraid to make fun of himself or take on unconventional roles like Monkey Bone.
The Leon Kennedy similarities start with his big blue eyes. Note the required youthful spark. From there, you have to compare hairstyles. Brendan Fraser's fluffy, healthy Leon-Scott-Kennedy-like hairstyle is his trademark look.
The final piece connecting the two is his infamous look in The Mummy 3. The promotional photos show Fraser with long hair that looks similar to Leon Scott Kennedy's in Resident Evil 4. Even the ensembles are similar, replete with bomber jacket and fingerless gloves. The look is eerily similar to Leon Scott Kennedy's look in Resident Evil 3.5 and Resident Evil 4. Billy Cranston (David Yost) the Blue Ranger of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers
Pause for a moment and contemplate the name "Billy the Blue Ranger"- doesn't that just sound like the kid that got ganged raped by the jocks in the locker room? Just like the Leon doujinshi people send me in the mail! (where do you guys find this stuff?) But there's even more tentative links than Leon Scott Kennedy Yaoi Hentai Fantasies, yes sir.
First, there's Billy. I'm one of the very few from my generation that wasn't obsessed with Power Rangers when it was released. But I did think the guy with the glasses and the 90s haircut was the cute one. Judging by his glasses, we can assume that Billy is the nerd of the group and he spends his spare time studying and reading classics by Vladimir Nabokov. Leon isn't exactly the "nerd" type (no glasses, there's a formula with entertainment!) but these two share the "ineffable spark", an innate boyish 90s charm that's all Leon Scott Kennedy.
Then, there's The Blue Ranger. The Blue Ranger represents the Triceratops, a genus of herbivorous ceratopsid dinosaur. The dinosaur has nothing to do with Leon, but I just find it amusing. Pack on topic, it's really the blue uniform that you can draw the most comparisons from. Leon's "theme color" in Resident Evil 2 is blue. Blue Cop Uniform, Blue Eyes, Blue because no one will listen to him, Blue balls from Ada. The two uniforms are similarly 90s-tastic and goofy.
Looking back, I completely love the bright colors and hilarious 90sness of it all. I don't love its retro glory enough to subject myself to a full episode, however.
Dr. Daniel Jackson or as I know him, "The Stargate Scientist Guy" (Michael Shanks)
This suggestion has been made to me by a few for years. I doubted it, ignored it- but registered it in the back of my mind with all the other naughty thoughts. My current boyfriend can't get enough of the cheesy shit of Sci-Fi, so I was finally subjected to an episode of Star Gate. I was shocked to see him. Plain as day- a true Leon Scott Kennedy Doppelganger in the form of Dr. Daniel Jackson. He's a live action character with a piece of Leon Kennedy's star seed, carried across the galaxy. You might consider this a stretch, so here's the point-by-point:
Personality: Not having watched much of the show, I know that Dr. Daniel Jackson is a scientist and a linguist who volunteered to join the SG-1 team. This is disturbingly identical to Milo Thatch (later in the list) and not much like Leon. However, the following description does remind me Resident Evil 2 era Leon Kennedy: Some see him as a soft, brainy, clumsy scientist who carries a wide-eyed enthusiasm with him through every mission.

Looks: Dr. Daniel Jackson shares similar traits with Resident Evil 2 era Leon Kennedy- brown 90s hair, big blue eyes, nice lips, nice nose. Put him in a cop uniform and bring him to my quarters, please. (Note how Dr. Daniel Jackson is an an occasional Ginger, too!)
Shout-out to my good friend Kira and others for this suggestion. I've met Kira through this website, and we've remained friends for about 7 years! She's suggested Dr. Daniel Jackson for a while but I never looked into it. She (and others who submitted Dr. Daniel Jackson for consideration) have a damn good eye for a true Leon Scott Kennedy Doppelganger. It's so nice to know I'm not alone with this Leon Scott Kennedy ridiculousness.
Cyclops/Scott Summers, X-Men Series, James Marsden
Another personal favorite pretty-boy of mine is Scott. He's my number one favorite mutant in the X-men group (Wolverine, Rouge, and Night crawler all tied for second. If that's possible). Cyclops sports Leon Scott Kennedy's Resident Evil 2 the-pretty-boy-in-the-boy-band haircut, blue eyes, and similar facial features. Both characters are whiney little cry babies. That aside, Cyclops is the square of the X-men group. He's the stickler for rules, the rule-abider. It's very Leon Kennedy-like. I had to include a picture of the X-men movie's interpretation of Cyclops. The man's sexy and really captures the whiney-bitchy-haughty essence of Cyclops dead-on. Dimitri Anastasia (1997)
Dimitri is the unconventional "Hero" of the 1997 animated film Anastasia. Initially a self-motivated con man, he slowly falls in love with the heroine Anastasia. In the end he sacrifices a fortune out of love for her. Dimitri sports a Leon Kennedy hair cut and similar facial structure and they're both sarcastic and a bit whiney. Unlike poor Leon, Dimitri wins his girl in the end. I once read that Dimitri was voted one of the top sexiest animated characters for being "realistic". Another source told me that Dmitri was deliberately design to be unattractive (the hair and nose were designed to be "awkward")- that's a fail on the character design team's part, wouldn't you say?
Squall Leonheart (Lionheart in FF7) of Final Fantasy 7 and the Kingdom Hearts series
With Squall Leonheart of Final Fantasy 7 and the Kingdom Hearts Series, you can draw out a Leon Scott Kennedy conspiracy.
First, Squall Leonheart says, "Just call me Leon." In Kingdom Hearts. Curious.
Second, Leon Scott Kennedy makes an appearance in what was to be Resident Evil 4 (and what is now considered Resident Evil 3.5) and sports a fluffy bomber jacket that reminds me of Squall's and longer Squall-like hair. The Squall-like identity is toned down in Resident Evil 4, but there's still a faint glimmer of it.
Third, blessed with Japanese-styled feminine features, delicate bone structure, longish brown hair, and blue eyes, they share some similarities in looks.
Fourth, Leon Scott Kennedy is a complete prick in Resident Evil: Degeneration. He's short-tempered, aloof, and serious. He acts like he has a stick up his ass and he has a strength in action that belies his pretty boy outward appearance. These are the Hallmarks of Squall's persona. Leon Scott Kennedy of Resident Evil Degeneration curiously has more in common with Squall Leonheart than Leon Kennedy of Resident Evil 2 or Resident Evil 4. His sarcastic sense of humor and general likeability is missing in this installment.
Fifth, both Squall Leonheart and Leon Scott Kennedy find a love interest in exotic raven haired girls. Although to be fair, The femme fatal Ada Wong is the polar opposite of bubbly, airy Rinoa Heartily. The plot of Final Fantasy 7 revolves around Squall relationship with Rinoa, while the relationship between Leon and Ada is subplot.
Time will tell if they continue to develop Leon into a stick-up-the-ass character like Squall Leonheart. At least Squall redeemed. He falls in love, and even gives us a smile or two. Leon Kennedy isn't moving in a good direction.

Hwoarang
Hwoarang is a sexy South Korean martial artist, biker and established rebel. Leon Scott Kennedy is far from being the rebellious type, but like Leon, Hwoarang does go through military training when he's drafted into the South Korean military's special operations division. Leon Scott Kennedy is a model soldier and Hwoarang escapes the military out of bordom. Despite sharp contrasts in personality, the two share a few similarities in facial structure- and a perpetual scowl in concept art, too.
Randy "Ryo" McClain FAKE
Ryo is an attractive detective in the Yaoi manga FAKE. With longish-sandy brown hair and a gentle disposition, New York City copy Ryo might remind you of Resident Evil 2 era Leon Scott Kennedy. Ryo also has a bit of a whiney side, only displayed when his partner (on and off the job) Dee makes him jealous. Out of his uniform, Ryo wears white-boy style GAP sweaters that remind me of the blue sweater Leon's drawn wearing in the Resident Evil 3 epilogues. A final thread of connection is their pasts. Both men are drawn to the force because their parents were murdered (like Batman, but less sexy and hardcore.) Although Leon Kennedy and Ryo McClain are relatively different in looks and personality, Ryo deserves an Honorable Mention for being a cute cop that displays a couple of Resident Evil 2 Leon-style pouts.
Milo Thatch Disney's Atlantis
Why don't more girls want a guy like Milo Thatch? He's the socially-acceptable-cute-nerd (no page on Wikipedia for this media phenomenon yet?) with smarts and innocent wide-eyed enthusiasm. He's eerily identical to Dr. Daniel Jackson from Stargate, who was also covered as a Leon Scott Kennedy Doppelganger. He has Resident Evil 2 Leon's haircut and general wimpyness, though Milo is infinitely wimpier. Wimpy or not, Milo still snags the affections of pretty princess Kida while Leon remains eternally in limbo over his lost love, Ada Wong.
Kirie from Peach Girl
This suggestion was mentioned by a good friend, so it stays- despite that fact that it's a true stretch. Kirie is a pretty boy (His name, "Kirie" means "pretty") and a main character in my favorite shoujo manga, Peach Girl. Kirie is chipper, bright, flirtatious and playful, but also displays a whiney depressed side that can remind one of Leon. His hair cut looks a bit like Leon's, but this is where the similarities end.
Devon Sawa whom I call the "Casper Actor Boy"
I couldn't find a picture of Devon Sawa where he wasn't making a face that one would make before they came out of the closet to the cute boy across the street. Sorry.
I'm convinced that this boy did naughty things with another young boy with the closet door closed moments before this picture was taken. It's all in the gay little smile. With 90s hair and the requisite "Leon Scott Kennedy Gayness" this boy (now a man) deserves at least an honorable mention as a Leon Scott Kennedy look-a-like.
Dr. Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer) whom I call the "Cute Doctor from House"
I've never seen an episode of house. I'm not going to watch it because I hate doctors and hospitals. If my doctors looked as delicious as Dr. Robert Chase, it would be a different story...
According to Wikipedia, this character is a jerk that talks about his patients behind their backs. Not Leon-like behavior. Not even Resident Evil Degeneration Leon-like behavior. But Dr. Robert Chase (Jesse Spencer, really) gets an honorable mention for being gorgeous and boyish with big pretty eyes, just like Leon Kennedy. More about the character here
