MAN IN UNIFORM LAYOUT INFORMATION

Current Layout

I was hoping it wasn't going to have to come to this. Something lead you to this website, you discovered how awesome it was and wanted to know more about it, which bought you here. To the layout information section. And it is here that I must unveil a deep, dark, horrible secret. A secret that no one was meant to know, a secret that I am forced to confess despite my shame, my guilt. A miserable secret tugging at the heart strings in my black, crispy heart.

The current layout, which you are looking at now, is a CSS Template! I look from Free CSS Templates! I am fully capable of making my own layouts, yet I took pre-made template and added my own spin to it instead! Exclamation points!!!!!

Now, allow me to explain myself before you place judgment on my soul. I love to be responsible for every aspect of my websites, from design, to content, to media. I want to be involved in the whole thing. This website is my baby, my magnum opus, a fun project for me to yield my creative forces.

However, as long-time visitors can attest- updates have been "inconsistent" to say the least. I have started and abandoned many complete revamps and remakes for this website, but I have a history of computer problems and they have sometimes been lost, sometimes abandoned.

I started this website as a high school student, and made the transition to being a full-time student to full-time professional. I made free time by not sleeping to update recently. I thought a little bit about WHY I couldn't move this website along and it hit me- something has to give. I CAN'T do it all right now. Not with any kind of deadline. So I decided, I want this done in a couple of weeks and I want it to look professional. I fooled around with layout ideas but this was too incredibly time consuming. Using the template was a shameful option, but it assured I would get the website online fast and it prevented me from making a million changes to the layout and delaying the process (I made more like a half a million instead.)

I'm actually collaborating with a talented illustrator friend to create an original new layout. (Art Trade) And I also plan to make changes to the current layout. But the content was paramount, so this is what you get.

Sorry if it's bland, and sorry if I'm cheating.

Previous Layouts

I?ve never had any luck making a good layout for Man in Uniform. I usually try to make a design that both men and women would appreciate but with my own flair and love for bold, solid colors and it just...never works. A while back, I enjoyed made mis-matched subpages on a whim (most of which are still online), so the website "didn't match" for a long time. This differentiated my website from all of the other Resident Evil websites out there, and I liked it. But I made everything more consistent to make the new content easier to read and the whole website less confusing and easier to navigate in general.

Without further rambling, the layouts...

The first layout. Brightness.
This was the first layout for Man in Uniform. After I completed writing the content I had trouble creating a layout not boyish but not girlish, that didn't look like anything else in the resident evil community. I came up with this and it stayed up for about a year. I still like this layout and might make another variation of it in the future.

It served it's purpose
I couldn't decide what image to use for this layout so I used a few of them. Pretty bland, but this actually lasted a while...

CORE TO THE HARD TO THE HARDCORE POWER!
Not enough text space, but I really wanted to make something "hardcore" like the Hotwheels commercials from my childhood.

Suckie suckie? Yes...
ince my computer crashed for the zillionth time, or a computer was replaced, lost files, broke some discs, whatever...I had no access to this layout for a long while. I found it again with archive.org, but not completely intact. This was a cute holiday themed layout that was online from 2/4/05 until 3/7/05.

Lovelies!
As much as i'd love to claim this lovely layout as my own, it was made for me by my friend Taylor. She was bored and one day requested to make a layout for me for any site I'd like. I chose Man in Uniform because it really REALLY needed a facelift at the time.

Past Cutesey got the muchiesyouts

Old School
I wanted to use colors not usually used on a resident evil website. This is a cute and VERY old layout, I believe I made this on a whim and uploaded a while before I even created this website.
