Cultural notes on the famous Marker!

Most North American viewers don't get why Purin draws all over the people's face. Sure, it's a sign of revenge because she is angry at them for not listening to her whole song. But it's also a cute parody of something that Japanese students like to do. When a classmate falls asleep in class, it's customary for the students to draw on their faces with permanent markers ala purin style. It might seem a little weird, but in America, kids play stupid pranks too.

The cruel custom is fun and deliciously addictive. Try it! I actually prefer to take their work and copy it or something like that, though.
