CHARACTER OF THE MONTH
Kojirou/James

(Don't be confused North American dub watchers! Kojirou is James' original Japanese name. Musashi is Jessi's Japanese name. And "The Rocket Gang" is the Japanese title for "Team Rocket")

The blue-haired sweetie that most of the male North American viewers see as the ultimate fag is Kojirou/James. He's soft, sweet, on the bitchy side, elegant, well-spoken and evil. He seems very vain but he might actually be in need of more self-assurance than it seems. Just…eh…don't mess up his hair. Now let me take that back, the fucker is VERY vain, we're talking about the guy who once quoted "Well…you see, I like to too look at myself in my spare time." But he has more depth than the average conceited ass. He has a cute playful and childish side to him. (Hoping around and singing "tra-la-la!" and such is an example) But he's far from innocent and can be a very mean little bitch when he wants to be or needs to be to complete a "mission."

He comes from a wealthy family, but he lived those years in agony because he was engaged to marry a total bitch- who incidentally looks identical to his partner in crime, Musashi/Jessi. He ran away from home, and tried to make it into Pokémon Tech. - where he met Musashi. They both flunked out of school with the lowest scores ever, that's what they get for partying all night instead of studying. Soon afterwards they joined a "bicycle gang"- where they went down in the gang's history. Kojirou and Musashi figured they wouldn't make it big without resorting to a life of crime because they didn't have faith in themselves as trainers, so they joined the Rocket Gang/Team Rocket, a gang that steals pocket monsters.

Kojirou may be the most useless member on the rocket team. Whereas Nyase/Meowth is the brains of the outfit, and Musashi is the cruel administrator of brute force. Kojirou is on the stupid side, a little too naïve for his own good, and VERY easily fooled. He's also has a little bit more of a conscience than the other two members. Although he's useless- people still tend to like Kojirou best. He provides some really fun and adorable comedy on the team. And Musashi and Nyase admitted that the team isn't the same without him when he was gone. Even if they both abuse the FUCK out of his ass when he's around.

For the North American viewers, Kojirou's Japanese voice is MUCH better than his English voice. It's very soft and pretty. You can almost melt into it. And it suits him better than his English voice, which goes up and down in pitch all the time and sounds queer and snobbish. You can tell the American Voice Actor was trying to imitate the Japanese Voice actor's work in the very early episodes. The bad thing about the Japanese Voice Actor (when you have the volume turned up all the way) is they way he SCREAMS. When he screams…he REALLY SCREAMS. It's kinda cute, but It'll scare the fuck out of you the first couple of times It seems I always like the abused softie characters in a series. :P

Shit you might not know about Kojirou and Musashi

1 The American Pokémon/Pocket monster animated series says Kojirou is 17 and the American Pocket monster Game Guide says Kojirou/James is 12. But according to the Original Japanese Pocket Monster animated series and the Japanese radio drama "the birth of mewtwo" both Kojiro and Musashi are 24-25. Explaining Musashi's BREAST SIZE. Come on people, how in shittyness can they be 12?!

2 Kojirou/Jame's partner in crime, Musashi/Jessi was modeled after the Shuduo Takeshi's (one of the pocket monster's series producers) high school girlfriend.

3 Kojirou/James was modeled after a long-haired blonde prince who always carries around a rose from a different animated series.

4 Musashi's/Jessi's foster mother fed her SNOW- and Muhashi LIKED it.

5 Kojirou and Musashi are both named after a Japanese legend about 2 samurai. I suck because I can't remember it well, but I know that Musashi the fierce warrior kills Kojirou in the end. Reflecting her abusing him in the animated series. Hah.

6 In the North American dub, Kojirou and Musashi are named after an American legend. JessieJames, a thief of the old west. I thought it was kinda neat that the dubbers named them after legends just like it was done in the original.

7 Kojirou represents the sadly submissive member of the team, while Musashi is the dominant "male" (Musashi is a very masculine Japanese name- think Butch or Dave) which explains why Kojirou dresses like a girl often while Musashi dresses as the male. Although sometimes they both dress like the girl, or neither do, or both do ^^;

8 In a Japanese episode, Kojirou wears a "rubber body suit" that gave him the appearance of very large breasts. The results were very cute and funny. Kojiou and Musashi tease Kasumi/Misty about her small breast size and tell her she entered the bikini contest 10 years too soon. They eventually dubbed this episode and aired it on kids WB. I missed it too- darn! I wanted to see how they managed to cut this scene out of the episode.
